Jung, Jin Sun Senior Researcher
Introduction
I am a postdoctoral researcher in Nursing Informatics committed to advancing data-driven precision healthcare through the integration of nursing knowledge and information technology. My research focuses on structuring the complex domain knowledge embedded in clinical practice and combining it with artificial intelligence and data science to enhance patient safety and the quality of nursing decision-making.
Research Interests
- Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS): Designing intelligent algorithms and systems to support real-time clinical decision-making by nurses.

- Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML): Developing predictive models for patient deterioration through the analysis of healthcare big data.

- Large Language Models (LLMs): Applying natural language processing (NLP) to unstructured nursing documentation and optimizing LLMs for healthcare applications.

- Ontology: Standardizing nursing terminology systems and developing intelligent knowledge bases.
Research Projects
[Multimodal Foundation Model–Based Frailty Prevention Service for Community Care]: Development and real-world validation of an AI-based prediction and management system for frailty prevention in a super-aged society.
Research Achievements
- Human–Large Language Model Collaboration for Systematic Ontology Updates: A Case Study in the Domain of Dietary Lifestyle, Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association, 2026.

- Evaluating the Impact of Explainable AI on Clinicians’ Decision-Making: A Study on ICU Length of Stay Prediction, International Journal of Medical Informatics, 2025.
